Inaugural Conference

The Context

The University of Victoria, in partnership with Global Affairs Canada, was hosting a conference on the important topic of diversity. They planned to bring together policy makers, researchers, educators, community members, government, corporate leaders and students to discuss everything from Indigenous inclusiveness to climate justice to global trade—a bold and much needed initiative to say the least.

The Solution

This ambitious three-day event was held in Victoria, BC, and included over 80 speakers, eight unique working sessions, gala events and six key conference themes. Since it was a first-time event, Proof Experiences played a key role in managing the Steering Committee of more than 20 academics and community leaders, guiding them through best event practises based on our extensive conference experience. We also supported the University and Global Affairs in managing the needs and expectations of partners like the World Wildlife Fund and The Trudeau Foundation. From high-level strategic planning to on-the-ground event management and logistics, our team of conference and event experts delivered a successful turnkey experience for all.
