Role Overview

The Manager, People & Culture is responsible for the design and delivery of high impact, strategic programs that build employee retention and contribute to a strong work culture. This role covers the employee lifecycle experience including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management and employee engagement strategies. While a specific HR background/certificate is not essential, strong people, teamwork & communication skills are a must. Proven experience working in recruiting and employee engagement is important.

The Manager, People & Culture role will be evaluated based on the following four key criteria of Employee Experience: Professional Development, Culture & Engagement, Strategy & Planning and Staffing Solutions Leadership.

Professional Development:

  • Manage and implement process of ongoing employee and manager feedback and administer overall talent development / management process
  • Coach managers and employees on performance management and development activities to facilitate positive team dynamics and the ability to deliver business results
  • Propose and design programs to enable people development including leadership training, mentorship programs, learning from new hires / exit interviews, drawing insights from employee surveys
  • Build the capacity of leaders across the organization by ensuring managers are invested in people development and equipped with the resources, skills and mindsets to effectively manage and develop their teams

Culture & Employee Engagement:

  • Conduct regular employee engagement/ pulse surveys and analyse survey results to make recommendations to improve engagement and job satisfaction scores
  • Support in the development and execution of a talent engagement strategy for the organization that is aligned to our values and maximizes the impact of our team members
  • When needed, support in corporate recruitment; post, interview, select, hire and orientation for a broad range of positions/ manager external recruiting firm for corporate recruitment needs and/or work with external resources in this capacity

People Strategy & Planning:

  • Consult with senior leadership in matters relating to people and HR processes to drive high performance and motivate all employees
  • Lead the strategy and implementation of HR policies, programs and practices – workforce resourcing, on-boarding, employee engagement, talent management, compensation, training, benefits and performance management
  • Continually update the Employee Handbook and other HR policies and procedures to answer questions and guide employees and managers
  • Participate in regular company senior management meetings and discussions to review challenges and opportunities for further success
  • Recommend and implement compensation strategies to ensure the organization stays competitive in the market, retains and motivates its top talent and provides fair and equitable compensation for staff

Staffing Solutions Leadership:

  • Lead and develop our recruiting department to hire and retain outstanding talent, develop a sourcing strategy and pipeline to cultivate a talent pool, lead development of new technology and processes to ensure efficiencies across the company
  • Develop and oversee annual business plan, budget, activities and incentive programs
  • Develop and oversee recruiting metrics that provide insights, drive decision making, measure team productivity, department profitability and ROI
  • Oversee Intern / Co-op program – recruiting, development opportunities, training
  • Actively manage and mentor talent and training team
  • Participate in new business opportunities for the Staffing Solutions department, creating tools to support new business
  • Build relationship with Staffing Solutions clients for organic growth
  • Train Proof Experiences teams on how to work with Staffing Solutions
  • Client invoicing and P&L Tracking
  • Participate in Financial meetings to showcase Staffing Solutions revenue
